Overview
In rural Nepal, children face overwhelming barriers to education – from unsafe classrooms and poor sanitation to the constant threat of child labour and trafficking. Through our partnership with Thrift for Good, we are raising funds to support vital interventions such as teacher training, clean water access, classroom construction, bursaries and libraries. This collaboration ensures that thousands of children not only enroll in school but stay safe, supported, and empowered to thrive – creating lasting change for families and communities across Nepal.

Impact on the ground
Project ‘Safe in School 1’ was completed in December 2025 and is now directly benefitting 155 students, 7 teachers and 162 nearby community members, with approx 800 additional people benefiting indirectly.
Students aged 3-12 years now enjoy a safe, comfortable and engaging learning environment.
Poor hygiene from a lack of wash facilities meant children were often ill, missing school. New sustainable water sources with child friendly taps and filters, enable both handwashing and drinking. As well as improving hygiene, drinking water availability hugely increases children’s attendance during dry season.
Access to separate, hygienic toilets has increased children’s dignity, confidence and safety.
The improvements have positively impacted the entire community, increasing trust in the school and encouraging higher enrollment, including children with disabilities due to inclusive facilities.
