Overview

Empowering Ethiopian Children Through Education, Health, and Nutrition

This initiative is dedicated to giving Ethiopian children a self-sustainable future by providing quality education, essential healthcare, and proper nutrition. Through holistic support, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and create opportunities for children to reach their full potential.

Impact on the ground

Our Vision

  • Provide Ethiopian children with access to quality education and good health.

  • Facilitate and support volunteers across teaching, health, agriculture, and engineering projects.

  • Raise awareness within the local and global community about the school and its mission.

  • Train and upskill local Ethiopian teachers and school leaders.

  • Ensure high standards of education, particularly in English language proficiency.

  • Establish a strong local support base for long-term sustainability and school expansion.

  • Uphold strict child protection policies and a safe learning environment.

Our Mission

Advancing Education

We are committed to providing high-quality education not only to students but also to the wider community. Our enhanced curriculum includes subjects like music, art, geography, and technology delivered by dedicated volunteers.

Advancing Health

The program continuously monitors and improves students’ health, focusing on HIV-related illnesses, infectious diseases, immunization, and nutrition. We provide calcium and nutrient-rich meals to support students’ physical and cognitive development.

Advancing Social and Public Welfare

By empowering children and their families, we aim to reduce poverty and equip them with sustainable skills for a brighter future. Our work directly impacts entire communities, ensuring that families receive education, healthcare, and social support.

Expansion Plans

Phase 1: Completing the School Expansion

Currently, the school provides free education, nutritious meals, and healthcare for children up to grade 4. However, after grade 4, students must attend nearby public schools, which often lack the same level of support. To address this, the school aims to expand its grade levels from 5 to 7, allowing students to complete 10 years of continuous education in a stable and supportive environment.

🚸 Impact: More children receiving a high-quality education with a focus on English proficiency and STEM subjects.

💻 New Facilities:

  • IT Room

  • Workshop

  • Science Laboratory

🎓 Afterschool Program for High School Students:

  • Basic computer skills

  • Programming

  • Graphics software

  • Photography & video editing

  • 3D software and CNC laser training

This initiative ensures that students not only graduate from school but also acquire valuable skills that prepare them for higher education and future careers.

Phase 2: Kitchen and Nutrition Expansion

The school kitchen is currently unsafe and insufficient, with:

Dirt floors & sheet metal walls

Poor ventilation & fire hazards

Limited cooking space & lack of storage

Minimal access to clean water

Our goal is to renovate the kitchen, improve food storage, and create a rooftop garden to enhance students’ nutrition and overall well-being.

🥗 Benefits of the Kitchen Expansion:

✔ Improved food preparation and greater dietary variety

Bulk purchasing to reduce costs and increase efficiency

✔ Safer working conditions for volunteers and staff

Community involvement in food hygiene and nutrition education

✔ A rooftop garden for sustainable food production

🌱 Health Impact:

Many students come from food-insecure households, making school meals their only source of proper nutrition. A diet rich in vitamins A, C, D, and K will improve immune function, bone strength, and cognitive performance, ensuring better school attendance and learning outcomes.

💧 Water & Safety Improvements:

  • Rainwater harvesting for kitchen use and fire safety

  • Secure food storage to prevent spoilage and waste

Long-Term Vision

With 5,000 children on the waiting list, our ultimate goal is to expand access to education while maintaining the sustainability and stability of the current programs.

🌟 Expected Outcomes:

Continuity of care & mentorship for students

Greater parental involvement & empowerment

Scholarship and sponsorship opportunities

A stronger focus on STEM education

Community-driven change through education & health

Through these initiatives, we are not just educating children—we are transforming lives and creating a brighter, healthier future for entire communities.
