About The

Challenge

Coming Soon

Discover two very different sides of Kenya on a family adventure combining wildlife, conservation and meaningful community engagement.

Journey from Nairobi to the spectacular Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where families will head out on safari in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, rhinos and other extraordinary wildlife. Visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, learn about endangered species conservation and have the rare opportunity to see the world’s last two northern white rhinos.

At the heart of the challenge are two visits to Smile Community Centre, the charity supported by Gulf for Good, giving participants the opportunity to meet the children and community, understand the project being funded and take part in meaningful activities together.

Day-by-Day

Day 1 – Nairobi → Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Welcome to Kenya! Travel north from Nairobi via Nanyuki to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. After checking into Sweetwaters Serena Camp, head out on the first afternoon game drive in search of elephants, lions, giraffes and rhinos before dinner and an overnight stay in the conservancy.

Day 2 – Ol Pejeta: Rhinos, Chimpanzees & Safari

Spend a full day exploring Ol Pejeta, beginning with a morning game drive. Visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary before heading to the Endangered Species Enclosure, home to the world’s last two northern white rhinos. Later, enjoy another game drive with the chance to spot lions, cheetahs and potentially leopards.

Day 3 – Ol Pejeta → Nairobi

After breakfast, leave Ol Pejeta and make the approximately six-hour journey back to Nairobi. Check into Novotel Nairobi Westlands and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure before the volunteering experience begins.

Day 4 – Volunteering with Smile Community Centre

Spend a meaningful full day with Smile Community Centre. Meet the team and children, learn about their work and see first-hand the orphanage project Gulf for Good is helping to fund. Activities will be developed around the needs of the centre and the interests and skills of participating families, potentially including sports, games, arts and crafts and creative activities.

Day 5 – Smile Community Centre & Departure

Return to Smile Community Centre for a final morning together. Continue volunteering activities, finish group projects, distribute any remaining appropriate donations and reflect on the longer-term impact of the project before saying goodbye and transferring to the airport.

Participants are advised to arrange late-afternoon or evening flights from Nairobi.
